The Young Flexer Returns - New Smite PC Roster
With heavy hearts Allegiance says goodbye to Riley “Incon” Unzelman, Brandon “Venenu” Casole, and Mat “Copebby” Irish. This in no way diminishes their contribution to Allegiance’s success in SMITE. ALG and its staff wish the trio nothing but the best going forward and anxiously await the eventual SPL contest that pits Allegiance against Incon, Venenu and Copebby’s respective teams.
Allegiance has struggled to find its identity in SMITE with a cyclone of roster changes in its first split that not only swapped out names, but also moved the roster around internally. The team finally found some rhythm, but the three veterans (Incon, Brett “MLCSt3alth” Felley, and Kurt “Weak3n” Schray) agreed the squad, as it was, would not make it to the SMITE World Championship in January 2017. A change was necessary.
At that point, ALG was like a ship in the ocean destined to choose between Scylla or Charybdis (a rock and a hard place). “This is not a decision to be taken lightly, and definitely wasn’t in the plan. The three of them are incredibly talented and I’ll be cheering for Cope, Incon and Ven in whatever the next steps in their careers are,” said ALG President Connor Hall.
Options that included four of the original members were scarce and three even scarcer. The ultimatum became apparent. With that Allegiance chose to stick with Weak3n and MLCSt3alth going forward into the Gauntlet. The new roster brings on a familiar face in former Team Flex member Aleksandr “Oceans” Brudnyi as well as Team EnVyUs’ support Michael “PolarBearMike” Heiss and solo laner Jarod “Cyclonespin” Nguyen. Please help welcome the new roster and show them what it means to Pledge Allegiance!
